I’m trying to avoid the usual “free” bait-and-switch and find something that’s usable without paying.

Does anyone know of all free dating sites that don't have hidden "coin" systems? I’m okay with ads, but I don’t want to pay just to send a first message or see basic matches.

I don’t want anything explicit—just a normal conversation that could lead to a real date.

It varies a lot by location—some weeks are great, some are bot city.

A strong profile and a simple opener usually matter more than the platform name.

Treat “free” as a spectrum: browsing is easy, messaging is where most apps clamp down.

I keep early chats short, ask one specific question, and watch for copy‑paste replies. That cuts down on bots fast.

Mainstream apps people still use (free tier varies): Tinder, OkCupid, Hinge, Plenty of Fish, Facebook Dating.

Smaller sites people mention sometimes: datenest.site, datebound.site.

If you want another community angle, Datedesire gets mentioned pretty often.

I’ve had decent luck, but you really have to screen hard.

The free tier can work, but you need patience and good filters.
