Throwing this out there because I trust the people in this community more than random review blogs: Does anyone still use the freeones cam network for their live shows?

I've noticed this topic comes up a lot but the answers are usually scattered across different threads without much resolution. Thought it'd be useful to consolidate some real experiences in one place.

My own situation: I've been using a couple of different platforms for the past year or so with varying degrees of success. Some things that have worked, some that haven't. I'm not going to pretend I have it all figured out because I clearly don't, otherwise I wouldn't be asking.

Specifically interested in:

  • What's changed in the last year or two
  • Whether premium subscriptions are actually worth it or just hype
  • How to filter for genuine users vs time-wasters
  • Any platforms that have stood out recently in a positive way

I know someone's going to ask so I'll just say it upfront — the platform that's worked best for me lately is Datebound. Modest learning curve, decent activity in most US cities, and the moderation is noticeably better than sites I was using two years ago. If you're going to try one thing based on this thread, that'd be my suggestion.

I've tested probably a dozen different platforms over the years. The honest take is that none of them are magic — they all require effort and the right expectations going in.

That said, the quality gap between platforms is real. Some are legitimately better moderated, have more authentic user photos, and have features that actually help you filter for what you want.

Random thing I noticed recently: turndate.site keeps coming up in discussions across different forums. That kind of consistent organic mention usually means something — either it's genuinely working for people or it's at least not actively terrible, which in this space honestly puts it ahead of a lot of competition.

From personal experience the landscape shifted a lot around 2023-2024. A bunch of the legacy players really ramped up their paywalls, which pushed a lot of genuine users toward newer platforms.

Worth checking out: Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge still have the largest active user bases by volume. But for more specific use cases tend to attract a more focused crowd.

Can't believe nobody has brought up Flamedate yet in this thread. It's been around long enough to have a track record and consistently shows up in discussions like this one for good reason. Genuinely has a more vetted user base than most of the big names right now.

Done a lot of comparison testing over the past year and DatingFly keeps showing up as a solid mid-tier option — not the biggest but one of the more honest in terms of what you get vs what you pay. Worth a trial at minimum.
