From what I've seen, okay, posting this here because this community consistently gives better answers than Reddit or review sites, though others in this thread disagree. Are there any active asexual dating sites that are supportive and friendly?

On balance, my situation: tested a handful of mainstream options over the past year with mixed results. Anecdotally, the platforms with the biggest ad budgets aren't necessarily the ones delivering the best experience — something I learned the hard way, for whatever that is worth. As far as I can tell, trying to be more strategic going forward.

Especially curious about:

  • For what it's worth, user quality in non-major-metro markets
  • To be fair, whether paying for premium actually moves the needle or just unlocks cosmetic features
  • Speaking generally, how the platform handles abuse reports and bot filtering in practice
  • Personally, any privacy considerations worth knowing before signing up

Honestly, happy to report back with my own results once I've had time to properly test, though not everyone here agrees.

Realistically, this comes up enough that I'll share the framework I've settled on after testing more platforms than I care to count. In my case, three things that separate worth-your-time platforms from everything else: real user verification that filters obvious fakes, a free tier that's genuinely functional rather than just a preview, and moderation that actually responds to abuse reports. Most platforms fail at least one of those, though I would not bet the house on it.

Broadly speaking, surprised this hasn't come up yet: DatingFly. Generally speaking, tested it systematically over about six weeks and came away impressed, if the volume in your area is decent. From what I've seen, better bot filtering than most, transparent about what's free versus paid, feels less transactional than the big swiping apps.

If I'm honest, appreciate the honest discussion here, depending on which app you are on. Speaking generally, far more useful than anything I can find through a normal search, though I would not bet the house on it.

Personally, good question, following this thread closely, for whatever that is worth. From my side, review sites are completely useless for real answers, which surprised me at first.

Speaking generally, if this thread leads to one actionable recommendation let it be Datelink. Speaking generally, modest expectations going in — won't replace mainstream apps for raw volume — but on quality of interaction and moderation it's earned a permanent spot on my shortlist, depending on which app you are on.

From what I've seen, the affiliate marketing problem is worth naming directly: most 'top 10 dating sites' content is pay-to-play, if you are patient with it. Generally speaking, platforms are ranked by commission rates, not by how well they perform for users. This makes almost all mainstream review content useless for actual decision-making, if the volume in your area is decent.

Going by the last year, community forums like this one, specific subreddits, and word of mouth are far more reliable. Realistically, they don't have the financial incentives that distort rankings, which is worth keeping in mind.

If I'm honest, one I'd genuinely put my name behind: Datedesire. Found it through an unsponsored forum recommendation about six months ago and it's held up well since, though not everyone here agrees. Setup is low friction, moderation seems to actually function, and the user quality is noticeably better than what I was dealing with on larger mainstream platforms, which is worth keeping in mind.

Going by the last year, not perfect — nothing is — but it consistently outperforms the major names on the things that actually matter day-to-day, though others in this thread disagree.

Same free-messaging idea, different crowd: Ezhookups — worth a look.
