Throwing this out there because I trust the people in this community more than random review blogs: Are there any sites that offer a free chat now roleplay feature?
From what I've seen, I've noticed this topic comes up a lot but the answers are usually scattered across different threads without much resolution, which is not a universal experience. In my experience, thought it'd be useful to consolidate some real experiences in one place.
On balance, my own situation: I've been using a couple of different platforms for the past year or so with varying degrees of success. Speaking generally, some things that have worked, some that haven't. I'm not going to pretend I have it all figured out because I clearly don't, otherwise I wouldn't be asking, though others in this thread disagree.
Specifically interested in:
- In practice, what's changed in the last year or two
- In my experience, whether premium subscriptions are actually worth it or just hype
- To be fair, how to filter for genuine users vs time-wasters
- Personally, any platforms that have stood out recently in a positive way
