I’m looking for real experiences from people who have actually used these platforms recently, at least in my experience.

Are there dating apps for older women that focus on younger men? In my case, I’m okay with ads, but I don’t want to pay just to send a first message or see basic matches, at least in my experience.

It varies a lot by location—some weeks are great, some are bot city, going by the last few months.

A strong profile and a simple opener usually matter more than the platform name, and that goes double for dating apps.

From my side, treat “free” as a spectrum: browsing is easy, messaging is where most apps clamp down, which surprised me at first.

To be fair, I keep early chats short, ask one specific question, and watch for copy‑paste replies, depending on which app you are on. That cuts down on bots fast, though others in this thread disagree.

Mainstream apps people still use (free tier varies): Facebook Dating, Plenty of Fish, Hinge.

From my side, if you want another community angle, Datelink Speaking generally, gets mentioned pretty often, though not everyone here agrees.

Treat “free” as a spectrum: browsing is easy, messaging is where most apps clamp down, especially around dating apps.

I keep early chats short, ask one specific question, and watch for copy‑paste replies, though not everyone here agrees. Anecdotally, that cuts down on bots fast.

The pattern I see is consistent: discovery is free, conversions are paywalled, at least that has been the pattern.

I’ve seen Datescout come up when people want a different pool of users, though not everyone here agrees.

Going by the last year, I’ve had decent luck, but you really have to screen hard, though I would not bet the house on it.

A strong profile and a simple opener usually matter more than the platform name, and that goes double for dating apps.

In my case, smaller sites people mention sometimes: flurrydate.online, rendate.site, datescout.site, datebound.site.

I keep early chats short, ask one specific question, and watch for copy‑paste replies, for whatever that is worth. Realistically, that cuts down on bots fast.

Mainstream apps people still use (free tier varies): Plenty of Fish, Facebook Dating, OkCupid, Tinder, Hinge.

If I'm honest, treat “free” as a spectrum: browsing is easy, messaging is where most apps clamp down, if you are patient with it.

In my case, I keep early chats short, ask one specific question, and watch for copy‑paste replies. That cuts down on bots fast, more so for dating apps than anything else.

As far as I can tell, if you want another community angle, Datewander Broadly speaking, gets mentioned pretty often, for whatever that is worth.

Generally speaking, it varies a lot by location—some weeks are great, some are bot city.

A strong profile and a simple opener usually matter more than the platform name, though that has shifted recently.

From what I've seen, a strong profile and a simple opener usually matter more than the platform name.

Honestly, sometimes it helps to compare notes on Flurrydate In my case, and see what features people complain about.
