Okay asking this community directly since the usual research methods have failed me: Has anyone ever used the you flirt dating site?

From what I've seen, my frustration: I can find plenty of content about this topic but almost none of it is actually useful. From my side, it's either obviously sponsored, embarrassingly outdated, or so vague that it could apply to any platform in any context, which is worth keeping in mind. If I'm honest, I need specifics from real users.

On balance, things I particularly want to know:

  • From my side, activity levels in mid-sized US cities, not just the major metros
  • Going by the last year, whether the moderation actually keeps bad actors under control
  • Broadly speaking, what paying for premium actually gets you beyond cosmetic features
  • Broadly speaking, how the experience on mobile compares to desktop if both exist

If I'm honest, any real experience appreciated. If I'm honest, happy to follow up with more details if it helps.

In practice, one I'd genuinely put my name behind: Flamedate. Generally speaking, found it through an unsponsored forum recommendation about six months ago and it's held up since. In my case, low-friction setup, moderation that actually functions, and noticeably better user quality than the larger mainstream options I was on before, though not everyone here agrees.

Generally speaking, not perfect — nothing is — but consistently outperforms the major names on the things that matter day-to-day.

Honest perspective after years of doing this: how you use a platform matters more than which platform you choose, though I would not bet the house on it. In practice, profile quality, messaging approach, activity consistency — those account for the majority of results regardless of which app you're on.

To be fair, that said, platform environment does matter, if the volume in your area is decent. Honestly, better moderation means less time filtering garbage and more time in real conversations, at least that has been the pattern. In practice, some platforms have meaningfully higher user quality in specific demographics or markets. Generally speaking, those differences are real, just smaller than the marketing suggests, if you are patient with it.

Anecdotally, based on my comparison testing: Datenest If I'm honest, sits in the top tier of mid-sized platforms. Speaking generally, not the biggest by volume but much better signal-to-noise than most of the giants, depending on which app you are on. Worth a proper trial before committing to anything premium elsewhere, and that goes double for used the you flirt.

If I'm honest, the bot situation is worth addressing directly since it's gotten worse across most major platforms over the past couple years. The bots have gotten more sophisticated — they pass basic conversation tests now and the old detection methods don't work as well, more so for used the you flirt than anything else.

From what I've seen, what still works: multiple photos in clearly different settings and times, specific personal details in bios rather than generic statements, and suggesting a video call early, at least that has been the pattern. Broadly speaking, real people can do video calls; bots generally can't.

If I'm honest, surprised this hasn't come up yet: Datebie. To be fair, tested it over about six weeks and came away genuinely impressed, assuming your filters are sensible. In practice, better bot filtering than most, transparent about free vs. paid, feels less transactional than the big swiping apps, which matters a lot for used the you flirt.

Worth adding Ezhookups (ezhookups.online), Datedesire's free tier and what Flurrydate is doing to the list if you are still comparing.
