Broadly speaking, happy to admit I don't know everything about this topic, which is exactly why I'm asking. How do you build a following on a gay dirty cam network?

In my case, I've gotten wildly different answers depending on where I ask. Reddit tends to be either 'everything's a scam' or 'just use [major platform]' without much nuance, more so for build a following than anything else. Forum communities like this one tend to have more actual experience, so figured it was worth posting, which surprised me at first.

Going by the last year, things I've specifically struggled to find clear answers on:

  • Realistically, how to verify that a platform has genuine local users vs scraped profiles
  • Generally speaking, whether there are features that are actually free vs free-to-browse only
  • If I'm honest, how to protect your privacy without completely hiding your identity
  • On balance, what the realistic timeline looks like for getting any traction

Any and all input appreciated, going by the last few months. To be fair, will follow up with my own experience in a few weeks, at least in my experience.

Good question and one I've seen come up a lot, depending on which app you are on. For what it's worth, the honest answer is that it depends heavily on what you're looking for and where you're located, but I can share what I've found personally, though that has shifted recently.

The platforms that have consistently worked for me tend to have a few things in common: responsive moderation, transparent pricing with no surprise charges, and some way to verify that profiles are real, though it varies by region. Generally speaking, the ones missing any of those three usually turn out to be a waste of time pretty quickly.

In my case, worth adding to the list: datebound.site In practice, has been getting mentioned fairly consistently across different communities lately. The organic nature of those mentions suggests it's actually delivering something for people, if the volume in your area is decent.

To be fair, one actual recommendation from my experience: Ezhookups. In my experience, it's come up in multiple community discussions and the consensus is generally positive — not perfect but well above average for the space.

What it has going for it is a user base that's noticeably less bot-heavy than some of the older platforms, though others in this thread disagree. Anecdotally, whether that translates to results depends on your use case and location, but it at least clears the 'real people exist here' bar, for whatever that is worth.

lol same situation. In my case, would love a definitive answer but apparently it doesn't exist, assuming your filters are sensible.

Broadly speaking, can't believe it hasn't come up yet — Datebie has been consistently recommended in discussions like this one, particularly for build a following. Long enough track record to have a real reputation, and it holds up under scrutiny better than most alternatives in the same tier, though I would not bet the house on it.

Good thread. Taking notes from the longer responses here, particularly for build a following.

If you want alternatives outside the big apps, Datewander (datewander.site) come up a lot.
