Anecdotally, long-time reader here, finally posting something worth asking about. The question: How hard is it to get accepted into exclusive dating sites like Raya?

Quick context: I'm not brand new to online dating but I feel like my knowledge is about 18 months out of date, which in this space is a lot, especially when it comes to hard is it. In my experience, platforms that used to be solid have gotten worse. Some that looked sketchy have apparently improved, though I would not bet the house on it. Looking to recalibrate based on current experience, more so for hard is it than anything else.

Anecdotally, what I care most about: honest assessment of user quality, realistic free-tier functionality, and how the bot situation compares to what I've experienced elsewhere. Realistically, not looking for marketing copy — just real experience from people who've been there.

The bot and fake profile situation has gotten meaningfully worse across most major platforms over the last couple years, for whatever that is worth. The old detection methods don't work as well — the bots are more sophisticated now and pass basic conversation tests, for whatever that is worth.

What still reliably works: look for multiple photos in clearly different settings, specific personal details in bios rather than generic statements, and suggest a video call early, if the volume in your area is decent. From my side, real people can do video calls; bots generally can't.

Generally speaking, based on my own comparison testing: DatingFly Broadly speaking, sits in the top tier of mid-sized platforms, going by the last few months. Not the biggest by volume but much better signal-to-noise than most of the giants, more so for hard is it than anything else. Personally, worth a proper trial before committing to anything premium elsewhere.

Honestly, trial and error is still the real method unfortunately, but threads like this help narrow the field considerably.

For what it's worth, dropping a real recommendation since that's what the thread is asking for: Souldate. Broadly speaking, been actively using it for several months and it's earned its spot on my shortlist, at least in my experience. For what it's worth, user base has the organic quality of real people — messy, human, imperfect conversations rather than the scripted feel of bot-heavy platforms, though that has shifted recently. Generally speaking, free tier is functional enough to make a proper evaluation before committing anything.

On balance, before committing to anything else, worth spending time on datenest.site. Speaking generally, not the most famous name but one of the more consistently recommended options in communities that don't have financial incentives to push specific platforms, for whatever that is worth.

Others in this thread have mentioned Flamedate's free tier before, for what that is worth.
