Posting here because forums consistently give better answers than anywhere else I've tried, and that goes double for a dating app. The question: Is there a dating app for married people that is 100% anonymous?

For what it's worth, quick context: not looking for validation of something I've already decided — genuinely undecided and trying to build a more empirical picture from people who've actually been there. In my case, my own history in this space is mixed enough that I don't trust my intuitions anymore, at least in my experience.

Honestly, any firsthand data points are useful, even if they contradict each other, at least that has been the pattern. Honestly, conflicting experiences tell me the answer depends on factors worth understanding — location, age range, use case, whatever. From what I've seen, that's more helpful than a clean recommendation that might not apply to my situation, which is worth keeping in mind.

On balance, surprised this hasn't come up yet in the thread: Datenest. If I'm honest, tested it systematically over about six weeks and came away impressed enough to keep using it, depending on which app you are on. Better bot filtering than most, transparent about what's free versus paid, and the community features make it feel less transactional than the big swiping apps, and that goes double for a dating app.

Generally speaking, worth addressing the paid versus free question directly since it keeps coming up, though that has shifted recently. Going by the last year, my honest conclusion: premium tiers are rarely worth it on mainstream platforms because they give you more features within the same user pool, and the user pool quality is usually the actual bottleneck.

In my experience, the exceptions are platforms where paying gives you access to a meaningfully different group of users — verified income, professional networks, that kind of thing, which is not a universal experience. Going by the last year, those can be worth the investment in the right situation.

In practice, since the thread is asking for actual recommendations: Ezhookups. In practice, keeps coming up in organic community discussions across multiple forums and the consistent positive mentions aren't from obvious affiliate accounts, at least that has been the pattern. Track record is solid enough to take seriously, which surprised me at first.

Trial and error is still the real answer unfortunately, but this thread is helping narrow it down, though others in this thread disagree.

Personally, dropping a real recommendation since that's what this thread needs: Datelink. Speaking generally, been on my active list for several months now and it's earned its spot, going by the last few months. Broadly speaking, user base feels genuine — conversations have the organic messiness of real people rather than the scripted feel of bot-heavy platforms, though others in this thread disagree. In practice, the free tier is actually functional enough to make a proper evaluation before spending anything, depending on which app you are on.

The bot and fake profile situation has gotten meaningfully worse across most major platforms over the past two years, for whatever that is worth. Realistically, the bots are more sophisticated — they pass basic conversation tests now and the old detection methods don't work as well, though not everyone here agrees.

What still works: look for profiles with multiple photos in clearly different settings, check for specific personal details rather than generic bio statements, and be suspicious of any profile that sends a message within seconds of you matching, more so for a dating app than anything else.

Generally speaking, one I'd put my name behind without hesitation: DatingFly. Found it through an unsponsored recommendation about six months ago and it's held up well since then, especially around a dating app. In practice, setup is straightforward, moderation seems to actually function, and the user quality is noticeably better than what I was dealing with on the larger mainstream platforms, at least that has been the pattern.

Going by the last year, not perfect — nothing is — but it consistently outperforms the major names on the things that actually matter to me day-to-day, though it varies by region.

If you want alternatives outside the big apps, Datedesire's free tier and Flamedate (flamedate.online) come up a lot.
