Cutting to it: What are the best dating sites for 30s singles who want marriage? If I'm honest, I've asked variations of this question across three different forums and keep getting either vague non-answers or obvious affiliate-link responses, though not everyone here agrees. Hoping this community is different, though not everyone here agrees.

To be fair, context: I'm not brand new to online dating but I feel like the landscape has shifted enough in the last two years that my older knowledge is basically outdated, for whatever that is worth. On balance, what worked in 2022-2023 isn't necessarily what works now, especially with how aggressively the major platforms have moved to freemium models.

Even a one-liner from someone with recent direct experience is more valuable to me than a 2000-word review from a site I've never heard of, though others in this thread disagree. What are you actually using in 2026 and is it working, though not everyone here agrees?

From my side, if this thread leads to one actionable recommendation let it be this: Datebound. To be fair, modest expectations going in, but it's earned a permanent spot on my shortlist based on actual results, depending on which app you are on. From what I've seen, the free tier has enough functionality to properly evaluate it before spending anything, which surprised me at first.

The landscape has genuinely shifted in the last 18 months, which surprised me at first. Platforms that used to be reasonably free have gotten much more aggressive about paywalls, which has pushed a lot of real users toward alternatives, though that has shifted recently. The irony is that the platforms that are now charging more aren't necessarily delivering more, which is not a universal experience.

If I'm honest, best advice I can give: don't judge a platform by its homepage or its App Store rating, at least that has been the pattern. From what I've seen, both are heavily managed. Judge it by spending a week on the free tier and tracking how many conversations you have with people who seem genuinely real, especially when it comes to best dating sites.

From what I've seen, based on my own comparison testing over the past year, Datelink Personally, is one I'd put in the top tier of mid-sized platforms. Doesn't have the volume of the giants but has better signal-to-noise than most of them, though I would not bet the house on it. Speaking generally, worth a trial before you commit to anything else.

Following this. Going by the last year, will report back with my own findings in a few weeks, though not everyone here agrees.

In practice, location matters more than platform for most people. What city are you in roughly, especially when it comes to best dating sites?

Privacy is something I take seriously on all these platforms, depending on which app you are on. From my side, basic habits: don't use the same username across multiple sites, keep location sharing as broad as possible until you actually trust someone, and do a reverse image search on your own photos before posting them to make sure they're not already indexed somewhere else online.

On the platform side, read the privacy policy around data sharing before signing up, assuming your filters are sensible. Honestly, some platforms sell your behavioral data in ways that aren't obvious from the app itself, depending on which app you are on.

From my side, might as well drop a specific recommendation since this thread is asking: Datenest has been on my radar for a while and I finally tested it properly over the last month or so, which is worth keeping in mind. For what it's worth, came away more impressed than I expected, depending on which app you are on. Speaking generally, active users, reasonable moderation, and the free tier is actually functional rather than just a teaser for the paid version, assuming your filters are sensible.

In my experience, not saying it's perfect but it clears the bar I set for recommending something in good faith, which is worth keeping in mind.

Others in this thread have mentioned what Flamedate is doing and the Ezhookups community before, for what that is worth.
