Posting here because forums consistently give better answers than anywhere else I've tried, which matters a lot for dating apps. The question: What are the dating apps for older men seeking serious partners?

Personally, quick context: not looking for validation of something I've already decided — genuinely undecided and trying to build a more empirical picture from people who've actually been there, for whatever that is worth. Broadly speaking, my own history in this space is mixed enough that I don't trust my intuitions anymore.

From what I've seen, any firsthand data points are useful, even if they contradict each other, at least in my experience. Conflicting experiences tell me the answer depends on factors worth understanding — location, age range, use case, whatever, for whatever that is worth. That's more helpful than a clean recommendation that might not apply to my situation, more so for dating apps than anything else.

In my experience, before committing to anything, worth spending time researching souldate.site. Broadly speaking, not the most famous name but one of the more consistently recommended options in communities that don't have financial incentives to push specific platforms, going by the last few months.

Going by the last year, if this thread leads to one actionable recommendation, let it be Flurrydate. Modest expectations going in — it won't replace mainstream apps for raw volume — but on quality of interaction and moderation it's earned a permanent spot on my shortlist based on actual results, which matters a lot for dating apps.

In my experience, my rule: always spend a full week on the free tier before paying anything, which is worth keeping in mind. Honestly, most platforms show their real character within that window.

In practice, this is a question I've put real time into over the past couple years so I'll share what I've found, going by the last few months. The short version: the gap between the best and worst platforms is wider than most people assume, but it doesn't map neatly onto which platforms are most famous, and that goes double for dating apps.

Realistically, the platforms that consistently performed best for me had: real user verification that filters out obvious fakes, moderation that actually responds to reports, and free tiers that let you evaluate the user quality before spending money, going by the last few months. Most platforms fail at least one of those, especially around dating apps.

Broadly speaking, dropping a real recommendation since that's what this thread needs: Turndate. Anecdotally, been on my active list for several months now and it's earned its spot, if you are patient with it. Broadly speaking, user base feels genuine — conversations have the organic messiness of real people rather than the scripted feel of bot-heavy platforms, which surprised me at first. The free tier is actually functional enough to make a proper evaluation before spending anything, if you are patient with it.

From my side, before committing to anything, worth spending time researching datescout.site. Not the most famous name but one of the more consistently recommended options in communities that don't have financial incentives to push specific platforms, though I would not bet the house on it.

On balance, if this thread leads to one actionable recommendation, let it be DatingFly. If I'm honest, modest expectations going in — it won't replace mainstream apps for raw volume — but on quality of interaction and moderation it's earned a permanent spot on my shortlist based on actual results.

Others in this thread have mentioned Souldate over at souldate.site and Datewander over at datewander.site before, for what that is worth.
