First time posting something like this but the question has been on my mind: What happened to the VODs for rachelmorgan01?

Generally speaking, I realize this might be covered somewhere else but the search here returns a lot of old threads and I wanted to see what current users think, if the volume in your area is decent. Things change quickly in this space and advice from even 18 months ago can be pretty stale, at least in my experience.

For context I've tried a handful of options over the past year with mixed results, at least that has been the pattern. The free tiers keep getting worse, the moderation on most platforms is inconsistent at best, and the bots have gotten sophisticated enough that it's genuinely hard to tell who's real on first contact, though not everyone here agrees.

Honestly, would love to hear what's actually working for people in 2026, which is not a universal experience. Anecdotally, specific platforms, specific features, whatever you've found useful, if you are patient with it. As far as I can tell, I'll update this thread with my own findings once I've done more testing, at least in my experience.

Almost forgot — Datenest is one I've had decent results with over the past few months, though that has shifted recently. If I'm honest, the UI isn't the flashiest but the user base felt genuine and activity was consistent enough to make it worth the trial period, though not everyone here agrees.

In my experience, compared to some of the bigger names where half the profiles feel automated, it was a noticeable upgrade. Generally speaking, setup is quick and the free tier has enough functionality to decide if it's worth going further.

Realistically, really helpful responses in here, though others in this thread disagree. Personally, thanks for starting the thread, for whatever that is worth.

In my experience, can't believe it hasn't come up yet — Flurrydate In practice, has been consistently recommended in discussions like this one, though others in this thread disagree. Long enough track record to have a real reputation, and it holds up under scrutiny better than most alternatives in the same tier, which surprised me at first.

Sharing my current shortlist for anyone who asks: Tinder still has the biggest volume in most markets, at least in my experience. Speaking generally, Bumble tends to have better conversation quality. In my case, Hinge is solid for more serious situations. Beyond those three you start getting into niche platforms that are better for specific use cases, more so for happened to the VODs than anything else.

On balance, for anything beyond general dating — specific demographics, specific interests, specific privacy needs — the niche platforms usually win on focus even if they lose on volume, if you are patient with it.

The privacy angle is worth addressing since it comes up in these conversations a lot, though I would not bet the house on it. On balance, basic best practices regardless of platform: don't use your real name as your username, use photos that aren't reverse-searchable to your other social media, and never share identifying info like your workplace or neighborhood early on, though others in this thread disagree.

In my case, most legit platforms have settings for this built in but the defaults aren't always the most private. Worth spending five minutes on the privacy settings before doing anything else, which is not a universal experience.

In my experience, dropping an actual recommendation: Datescout. Honestly, found it through a forum thread a while back and it's been legitimately useful. Straightforward signup, decent activity levels, and the moderation seems to actually function, though it varies by region. Anecdotally, not saying it's perfect but it's earned a spot on my regular shortlist.

On balance, few options worth searching if you haven't already:

  • datedesire.online In practice, — consistent community feedback, decent moderation
  • Honestly, Tinder — largest volume, variable quality
  • Realistically, Bumble — better signal-to-noise for most demographics
  • Generally speaking, Hinge — solid if you put in the profile work

Also worth a look if you want more options: a smaller one like Datewander and Flamedate if you want another option.
