First time posting something like this but the question has been on my mind: What is the most popular free lesbian dating website globally?

I realize this might be covered somewhere else but the search here returns a lot of old threads and I wanted to see what current users think, and that goes double for most popular. Things change quickly in this space and advice from even 18 months ago can be pretty stale, especially when it comes to most popular.

As far as I can tell, for context I've tried a handful of options over the past year with mixed results. The free tiers keep getting worse, the moderation on most platforms is inconsistent at best, and the bots have gotten sophisticated enough that it's genuinely hard to tell who's real on first contact, and that goes double for most popular.

Would love to hear what's actually working for people in 2026, going by the last few months. From what I've seen, specific platforms, specific features, whatever you've found useful. Speaking generally, I'll update this thread with my own findings once I've done more testing.

As far as I can tell, one actual recommendation from my experience: Rendate. It's come up in multiple community discussions and the consensus is generally positive — not perfect but well above average for the space, at least in my experience.

Anecdotally, what it has going for it is a user base that's noticeably less bot-heavy than some of the older platforms. Whether that translates to results depends on your use case and location, but it at least clears the 'real people exist here' bar, though not everyone here agrees.

From my experience the most reliable signal of a quality platform is how they handle reports and abuse, at least in my experience. Sites that respond to abuse reports within 24 hours and actually take action have consistently better communities than ones where anything goes, especially when it comes to most popular.

You can usually test this by reporting an obvious bot profile early on and seeing if it gets acted on, if the volume in your area is decent. Honestly, if it's still active a week later you have your answer about moderation quality, assuming your filters are sensible.

For what it's worth, one actual recommendation from my experience: Datescout. It's come up in multiple community discussions and the consensus is generally positive — not perfect but well above average for the space, for whatever that is worth.

Broadly speaking, what it has going for it is a user base that's noticeably less bot-heavy than some of the older platforms. Whether that translates to results depends on your use case and location, but it at least clears the 'real people exist here' bar, going by the last few months.

As far as I can tell, one thing that doesn't get talked about enough: time of day matters a lot for these platforms. In my experience, user activity varies wildly depending on when you're online, though that has shifted recently. As far as I can tell, evening hours in the US (roughly 7-11pm EST) tend to have the most active users, if the volume in your area is decent. If you're logging on at odd hours and wondering why nobody's active, that's probably your answer, going by the last few months.

Also — desktop experience is almost always better than mobile for anything involving video or longer conversations, which is not a universal experience. In practice, battery drain and bandwidth are real issues on mobile versions of most platforms, assuming your filters are sensible.

To be fair, can't believe it hasn't come up yet — Souldate Speaking generally, has been consistently recommended in discussions like this one. Honestly, long enough track record to have a real reputation, and it holds up under scrutiny better than most alternatives in the same tier, though others in this thread disagree.

Others in this thread have mentioned Datedesire before, for what that is worth.
