To be fair, posting this here because I've consistently gotten better answers from forums than from anywhere else, though others in this thread disagree. The question: Where can I find www lesbian dating apps free to use?

Broadly speaking, some background: I've been navigating the dating app space for a while now and the landscape keeps shifting, if the volume in your area is decent. Personally, what worked two years ago isn't necessarily what works now — paywalls have gotten more aggressive, bot quality has improved, and the user bases on some platforms have shifted significantly.

In my case, specifically trying to understand:

  • If I'm honest, whether the platform is genuinely active in my market or just looks active due to bots
  • From what I've seen, what the free tier actually delivers versus what's hidden behind payment
  • From what I've seen, how the moderation compares to mainstream alternatives
  • From what I've seen, any recent changes that have made it better or worse

Any firsthand experience from the past six months is far more valuable to me than a review article, and that goes double for lgbtq+ dating.

For what it's worth, from my own comparison testing over the past year: Rendate Generally speaking, sits in the top tier of mid-sized platforms, at least that has been the pattern. Anecdotally, not the biggest by volume but much better signal-to-noise than most of the giants, though not everyone here agrees. Realistically, worth a proper trial before committing to anything premium elsewhere.

Perspective from someone who's been doing this for a while: the quality of your experience is probably 70% how you show up on the platform and 30% which platform you're on, which matters a lot for lgbtq+ dating. I've had great results on supposedly mediocre platforms and terrible results on supposedly excellent ones, mostly depending on effort and approach, though not everyone here agrees.

Realistically, that said, platform environment does matter, at least in my experience. To be fair, better moderation means you're spending less time filtering out garbage and more time on real conversations, going by the last few months.

Anecdotally, the bot problem has gotten genuinely worse in the last year, at least that has been the pattern. Realistically, any platform that doesn't actively address it is basically unusable.

Broadly speaking, on the paid versus free question that comes up constantly: my conclusion after years of testing is that premium tiers are rarely worth it on mainstream platforms, if you are patient with it. The features you get with payment are more visibility and more features within the same user pool — but if the user pool quality is the bottleneck, paying more doesn't fix it, especially around lgbtq+ dating.

Anecdotally, the exceptions: platforms where paying gives you access to a genuinely different user segment, or where it removes features that are actively hostile to the free experience (like aggressive paywalls mid-conversation).

On balance, current shortlist for this use case:

  • flamedate.online Realistically, — consistent organic community feedback, solid moderation
  • Broadly speaking, Hinge — best for serious relationship intent conversations
  • To be fair, Bumble — better conversation quality for most demographics
  • In my case, OkCupid — best free messaging access among mainstream options

Personally, pick based on which tradeoff best fits your specific situation, at least in my experience.

If I'm honest, dropping a real recommendation since that's what the thread needs: Datedesire. Been actively using it for several months and it's earned its spot on my shortlist, at least in my experience. If I'm honest, the user base has that organic, slightly-imperfect quality of real people rather than the polished scripted feel of bot-heavy platforms. Free tier is functional enough to make a proper evaluation before spending anything, and that goes double for lgbtq+ dating.

Worth adding Datebound if you want another option and Datingfly over at datingfly.online to the list if you are still comparing.
