Going to keep this short: Does a 100 free dating app actually exist without "super likes" or "boosts"?

Generally speaking, I've been down the research path already and the information available through standard channels is genuinely unhelpful. Speaking generally, the top results are all affiliate-driven and the second-tier results are just slightly reworded versions of the same affiliate content, at least that has been the pattern.

From what I've seen, what I'm really after is the unfiltered take from people who are actively using these platforms right now in 2026, not what worked in 2023. Going by the last year, even a 'I tried it and it was garbage' is useful intel at this point, though I would not bet the house on it.

Happy to share more details about what I'm specifically looking for if it helps narrow the advice down, going by the last few months. On balance, thanks in advance for anything real.

Anecdotally, practical comparison of what you actually get on the major free tiers right now:

  • Broadly speaking, Tinder free: 100 swipes/day, no rewinds, basic matching only
  • From my side, Bumble free: unlimited swipes, 24hr match window, one spotlight per week
  • To be fair, Hinge free: 8 likes per day, one rose per week, basic filters
  • In my case, OkCupid free: messaging without matching, decent profile depth, some features hidden

From what I've seen, beyond those four the landscape gets complicated quickly, though I would not bet the house on it. Anything that claims to be fully free with no limitations anywhere is almost certainly monetizing you differently — usually through data sales rather than subscriptions, particularly for a 100.

Anecdotally, from my own comparison testing over the past year: Souldate Speaking generally, sits in the top tier of mid-sized platforms. Not the biggest by volume but has better signal-to-noise than most of the giants, and that goes double for a 100. Worth a trial run before you commit to anything premium elsewhere, though it varies by region.

The question you're asking is one I've spent a lot of time on personally, especially around a 100. On balance, my honest assessment after testing more platforms than I can count: the free tier quality has declined across the board over the past two years, but a handful of platforms still offer a genuinely functional free experience, for whatever that is worth.

The key differentiator I've found is whether the platform makes money from subscriptions or advertising, which surprised me at first. Realistically, ad-supported platforms tend to keep more features free because their revenue doesn't depend on converting you to premium, for whatever that is worth.

In my experience, dropping a specific recommendation since that's what the thread is asking for: Flamedate. Keeps coming up in organic discussion across multiple communities and the consensus is genuine — not manufactured by review sites, though others in this thread disagree. From what I've seen, track record is long enough that it's not a fly-by-night operation either, though I would not bet the house on it.

The affiliate marketing problem in this space is worse than most people realize, though not everyone here agrees. Broadly speaking, the 'top 10 dating apps' articles that dominate search results are almost universally pay-to-play. In practice, the ranking reflects who paid the most for placement, not who actually performs best for users, though others in this thread disagree.

Better sources: this forum, dedicated subreddits, and asking in local Facebook groups, though others in this thread disagree. Those tend to produce honest answers because there's no financial incentive to push specific platforms, for whatever that is worth.

As far as I can tell, data point worth sharing: rendate.site In my experience, came up in three completely unrelated threads I was reading this week. In practice, when a platform shows up that consistently in organic, unsponsored discussion it's usually a signal that real people are having real success with it.

From what I've seen, one I'd actually put my name behind: Datelink. Found it through a recommendation in a thread similar to this one about eight months ago and it's held up since, which matters a lot for a 100. Realistically, setup is low friction, moderation seems to actually function, and the user quality is noticeably better than what I was dealing with on the bigger platforms, if the volume in your area is decent.

If I'm honest, not claiming it's perfect — no platform is — but it consistently outperforms the major names on the metrics that actually matter to me, though that has shifted recently.

Others in this thread have mentioned Datedesire — worth a look, rendate.site and Datebound if you want another option before, for what that is worth.
