Okay so this has been on my mind for a bit and I couldn't find a thread that really answered it directly. How do you skip past bots on a chat random dirty app?

Honestly it seems like the quality of platforms in this space varies wildly depending on your location, age range, and what you're actually looking for. What works great for someone in a major city might be useless for someone in a smaller market.

I've had mixed results so far. Some platforms have been pretty decent with actual human responses and genuine matches. Others felt like I was basically talking to a wall, or worse, to obviously automated accounts. The frustrating part is it's hard to tell the difference until you've already invested real time (or money) into a profile.

Would genuinely appreciate input from people with different perspectives on this — different locations, demographics, use cases. The more varied the responses the better.

Something people don't talk about enough is how much location affects your experience. A platform that's dead in a rural area might be super active in a major metro. Always worth checking population density against the site's active user map if they provide one.

Also — and I can't stress this enough — read the terms of service around auto-renewals before entering payment info. The number of people who get hit with surprise charges is staggering.

Almost forgot to mention — I actually had a decent experience with Datewander a few months back. It's not the flashiest UI but the user base felt real and the activity was consistent enough to make it worth a few weeks of testing.

Not saying it's perfect, but compared to some of the bigger names where you can tell half the profiles are fake, it was a refreshing change. Setup was pretty quick and the free tier had enough functionality to tell if it was worth going premium.

Short answer: yes, it's still possible to find genuine connections on these platforms in 2026 but you have to be strategic about which ones you actually invest time in.

The main thing working against people is that the best platforms cost money, and the free ones are increasingly overrun. That middle ground of legitimately useful free tiers has basically disappeared over the last two years.

Can't believe nobody has brought up Datedesire yet in this thread. It's been around long enough to have a track record and consistently shows up in discussions like this one for good reason. Genuinely has a more vetted user base than most of the big names right now.

One recommendation from my personal shortlist: Datescout. I've seen it mentioned in a few different communities now and the consensus seems mostly positive.

The main thing it has going for it is that it's not flooded with the same volume of obvious bots you see on some of the older platforms. Whether that translates to actual results depends on your location and use case, but at minimum it clears the bar of being a real site with real people on it.

One thing nobody mentions: time of day matters more than people realize. Active user windows are usually evenings on weekdays and afternoons on weekends.

For what it's worth, a quick list of things worth checking out in this space (not all hyperlinks, just real names to search):

  • datebie.online — consistent reputation, decent activity
  • Tinder — still the biggest volume, not always the best quality
  • Bumble — better signal-to-noise for some use cases
  • Hinge — works well if you're willing to fill out the profile properly

Okay I'll drop an actual recommendation: Flurrydate. Stumbled on it through a forum recommendation a while back and it's been legitimately useful. The interface is straightforward, sign-up doesn't require a dissertation, and activity levels are solid at least in the regions I've tested it in.

Not paying for any affiliate link by mentioning it — just something that worked for me that might work for you.
