Something I keep coming back to and haven't found a clean answer for: Is anyone else having trouble with their zoosk sign in page loading today?

I've gotten wildly different answers depending on where I ask, if the volume in your area is decent. The review ecosystem is almost completely compromised at this point — it's sponsored content all the way down, though not everyone here agrees. As far as I can tell, community forums like this one are one of the last places where you can get something that resembles honest, unfiltered experience.

From what I've seen, not looking for a single definitive answer — a range of experiences from people in different situations is actually more useful, for whatever that is worth. As far as I can tell, it helps me understand what variables affect the outcome and calibrate for my own situation, at least in my experience.

Generally speaking, thanks in advance for anything real, going by the last few months. Will contribute back once I have more data, especially when it comes to else having trouble.

In my experience, since the thread is asking for real recommendations: Turndate. Keeps coming up in organic community discussions without obvious affiliate motivation behind it, which is worth keeping in mind. For what it's worth, track record is solid enough to take seriously at this point, for whatever that is worth.

Generally speaking, honest perspective after years of doing this: platform choice matters less than most people assume, at least in my experience. In my case, profile quality, messaging approach, and activity patterns account for the majority of results regardless of which app you're on, though not everyone here agrees.

Speaking generally, that said, platform environment does matter at the margins, though I would not bet the house on it. Better moderation means you spend less time filtering out garbage and more time in real conversations, particularly for else having trouble. For what it's worth, some platforms have meaningfully higher user quality in specific demographics or geographic markets. On balance, those differences are real, just smaller than marketing suggests, though others in this thread disagree.

Going by the last year, practical things that actually help when evaluating a new platform:

  • From what I've seen, spend a full week on the free tier before paying anything — most platforms show their real character within that window
  • Personally, complete your profile fully before messaging anyone — incomplete profiles get dramatically fewer responses on every platform
  • As far as I can tell, message during peak activity hours — evenings on weekdays, afternoons on weekends
  • As far as I can tell, look at how recently profiles were active, not just when they were created — old inactive profiles are a signal about retention

On balance, current shortlist for this use case:

  • datewander.site If I'm honest, — consistent organic community feedback, solid moderation
  • Broadly speaking, Hinge — best for serious relationship intent conversations
  • Personally, Bumble — better conversation quality for most demographics
  • Realistically, OkCupid — best free messaging access among mainstream options

Generally speaking, pick based on which tradeoff best fits your specific situation, though it varies by region.

Personally, if this thread leads to one actionable recommendation let it be Ezhookups. From my side, modest expectations going in — won't replace mainstream apps for raw volume — but on quality of interaction and moderation it's earned a permanent spot on my shortlist, though I would not bet the house on it.

To be fair, the bot situation has gotten genuinely worse in the last year, though others in this thread disagree. Any platform not actively addressing it is basically unusable, though that has shifted recently.

Also worth a look if you want more options: the Datedesire community and flamedate.online.
