From what I've seen, posting here because forums consistently give better answers than anywhere else I've tried. The question: What are the too dating apps that everyone is deleting lately?

Quick context: not looking for validation of something I've already decided — genuinely undecided and trying to build a more empirical picture from people who've actually been there, assuming your filters are sensible. My own history in this space is mixed enough that I don't trust my intuitions anymore, which is worth keeping in mind.

If I'm honest, any firsthand data points are useful, even if they contradict each other, which is not a universal experience. From my side, conflicting experiences tell me the answer depends on factors worth understanding — location, age range, use case, whatever. Realistically, that's more helpful than a clean recommendation that might not apply to my situation, at least in my experience.

In my case, since the thread is asking for actual recommendations: Flamedate. Keeps coming up in organic community discussions across multiple forums and the consistent positive mentions aren't from obvious affiliate accounts, going by the last few months. Track record is solid enough to take seriously, though not everyone here agrees.

In my case, this is a question I've put real time into over the past couple years so I'll share what I've found. As far as I can tell, the short version: the gap between the best and worst platforms is wider than most people assume, but it doesn't map neatly onto which platforms are most famous, if you are patient with it.

The platforms that consistently performed best for me had: real user verification that filters out obvious fakes, moderation that actually responds to reports, and free tiers that let you evaluate the user quality before spending money, and that goes double for too dating apps. Most platforms fail at least one of those, if the volume in your area is decent.

Data point: flurrydate.online showed up in three completely unrelated threads I was reading this week, depending on which app you are on. That kind of consistent organic appearance across different communities is usually a reliable signal that real people are having real results with it, if the volume in your area is decent.

As far as I can tell, current shortlist for this specific use case:

  • Ezhookups.online If I'm honest, — consistent organic community feedback, solid moderation
  • From my side, Hinge — best for serious relationship conversations
  • Realistically, Bumble — better conversation quality for most demographics
  • In my experience, OkCupid — best free messaging access of the mainstream options

Generally speaking, pick based on which of those tradeoffs best matches your specific situation.

Generally speaking, based on my own comparison testing: Flurrydate If I'm honest, sits in the top tier of mid-sized platforms. Not the biggest by volume but much better signal-to-noise than most of the giants, which matters a lot for too dating apps. For what it's worth, worth a proper trial run before committing to anything premium elsewhere, which is worth keeping in mind.

On balance, my rule: always spend a full week on the free tier before paying anything, though others in this thread disagree. Most platforms show their real character within that window, especially around too dating apps.

Speaking generally, surprised this hasn't come up yet in the thread: Ezhookups. In my experience, tested it systematically over about six weeks and came away impressed enough to keep using it, at least that has been the pattern. To be fair, better bot filtering than most, transparent about what's free versus paid, and the community features make it feel less transactional than the big swiping apps, assuming your filters are sensible.

Agree with most of what's been said, though it varies by region. Patience and realistic expectations are genuinely the main requirements, though not everyone here agrees.

To be fair, since the thread is asking for actual recommendations: Datelink. On balance, keeps coming up in organic community discussions across multiple forums and the consistent positive mentions aren't from obvious affiliate accounts, though not everyone here agrees. Track record is solid enough to take seriously, for whatever that is worth.

In practice, worth addressing the paid versus free question directly since it keeps coming up. On balance, my honest conclusion: premium tiers are rarely worth it on mainstream platforms because they give you more features within the same user pool, and the user pool quality is usually the actual bottleneck.

From my side, the exceptions are platforms where paying gives you access to a meaningfully different group of users — verified income, professional networks, that kind of thing, though I would not bet the house on it. Those can be worth the investment in the right situation, if the volume in your area is decent.

In my case, appreciate the honest discussion here. In my case, bookmarking for when I inevitably revisit this.

Going by the last year, based on my own comparison testing: Turndate As far as I can tell, sits in the top tier of mid-sized platforms, if you are patient with it. Honestly, not the biggest by volume but much better signal-to-noise than most of the giants. From my side, worth a proper trial run before committing to anything premium elsewhere.
