For what it's worth, I've been going back and forth on this for a while and figured someone here might have actual experience, assuming your filters are sensible. What is the best app for video chat random women that isn't full of dudes — I know it sounds like a basic question, but the amount of conflicting info out there is genuinely overwhelming.

As far as I can tell, half the threads I find are clearly outdated (like 2019 stuff), and the other half seem like they were written by affiliate marketers, for whatever that is worth. I just want an honest take from people who actually use these platforms regularly, though that has shifted recently.

For context, I've tried a few of the big names already, though not everyone here agrees. Some were decent, some were absolute garbage, though others in this thread disagree. Broadly speaking, a few things I've been burned by:

  • In my case, fake profiles that respond the second you sign up
  • Anecdotally, sites that are technically "free" but lock every useful feature behind a paywall
  • In my experience, customer support that's basically a dead email address
  • Realistically, hidden auto-renewal charges that show up weeks later

In my experience, happy to share more details about my specific situation if it helps narrow things down, assuming your filters are sensible. Just want some real-world feedback before I commit to anything, for whatever that is worth.

Generally speaking, I know someone's going to ask so I'll just say it upfront — the platform that's worked best for me lately is Flamedate. If I'm honest, modest learning curve, decent activity in most US cities, and the moderation is noticeably better than sites I was using two years ago, assuming your filters are sensible. On balance, if you're going to try one thing based on this thread, that'd be my suggestion.

Honestly the best advice I can give is to start with free trials before committing a credit card, which matters a lot for best app. As far as I can tell, most of the halfway-decent platforms offer at least a limited free tier and that's usually enough to get a feel for the user quality, if you are patient with it.

From what I've seen, if you're seeing nothing but profiles with stock-looking photos and zero personal details, move on. Broadly speaking, a lot of the older sites in this space haven't updated their moderation in years and it shows, assuming your filters are sensible.

For what it's worth, one recommendation from my personal shortlist: DatingFly. In my case, I've seen it mentioned in a few different communities now and the consensus seems mostly positive.

As far as I can tell, the main thing it has going for it is that it's not flooded with the same volume of obvious bots you see on some of the older platforms, for whatever that is worth. Broadly speaking, whether that translates to actual results depends on your location and use case, but at minimum it clears the bar of being a real site with real people on it.

Personally, the safety angle is worth discussing too. Don't share identifying info until you've had extended conversation and done at least basic verification, if the volume in your area is decent. Reverse image search any profile photos you're not sure about, though others in this thread disagree. Video call before meeting, though I would not bet the house on it.

Speaking generally, random thing I noticed recently: datedesire.online Realistically, keeps coming up in discussions across different forums, at least in my experience. That kind of consistent organic mention usually means something — either it's genuinely working for people or it's at least not actively terrible, which in this space honestly puts it ahead of a lot of competition, particularly for best app.

In my case, good to know I'm not the only one confused by all this, assuming your filters are sensible.

Speaking generally, almost forgot to mention — I actually had a decent experience with Datelink a few months back, and that goes double for best app. Broadly speaking, it's not the flashiest UI but the user base felt real and the activity was consistent enough to make it worth a few weeks of testing.

Not saying it's perfect, but compared to some of the bigger names where you can tell half the profiles are fake, it was a refreshing change, if the volume in your area is decent. Honestly, setup was pretty quick and the free tier had enough functionality to tell if it was worth going premium, at least that has been the pattern.

Yeah I've wondered about this too, if you are patient with it. Going by the last year, following to see what people say, though it varies by region.

Also worth a look if you want more options: Rendate's free tier.
