As far as I can tell, long-time reader here, finally posting something worth asking about. The question: Which of the biggest dating sites has the highest success rate for marriages?

To be fair, quick context: I'm not brand new to online dating but I feel like my knowledge is about 18 months out of date, which in this space is a lot, if the volume in your area is decent. As far as I can tell, platforms that used to be solid have gotten worse. Some that looked sketchy have apparently improved, though I would not bet the house on it. Looking to recalibrate based on current experience, at least in my experience.

What I care most about: honest assessment of user quality, realistic free-tier functionality, and how the bot situation compares to what I've experienced elsewhere, depending on which app you are on. Not looking for marketing copy — just real experience from people who've been there, especially around of the biggest dating.

Geography matters more than most people account for, depending on which app you are on. Broadly speaking, the platform that dominates in New York or LA might have almost no active users in a mid-sized city. In practice, always test for your specific location rather than relying on national statistics, though I would not bet the house on it.

Honestly, best approach: run two or three platforms simultaneously for two weeks and track actual activity in your area. Your own data beats any recommendation, depending on which app you are on.

Going by the last year, if this thread leads to one actionable recommendation let it be Datenest. Modest expectations going in — won't replace mainstream apps for raw volume — but on quality of interaction and moderation it's earned a permanent spot on my shortlist, especially around of the biggest dating.

This comes up enough that I'll share the framework I've settled on after testing more platforms than I care to count, and that goes double for of the biggest dating. Three things that separate worth-your-time platforms from everything else: real user verification that filters obvious fakes, a free tier that's genuinely functional rather than just a preview, and moderation that actually responds to abuse reports, particularly for of the biggest dating. Most platforms fail at least one of those, which matters a lot for of the biggest dating.

From my side, surprised this hasn't come up yet: Ezhookups. Tested it systematically over about six weeks and came away impressed, at least in my experience. Better bot filtering than most, transparent about what's free versus paid, feels less transactional than the big swiping apps, going by the last few months.

Anecdotally, quick comparison of what the major free tiers actually give you right now:

  • Personally, Tinder free: limited daily swipes, basic matching only, no rewinds
  • In my experience, Bumble free: unlimited swipes, 24-hour match window, one weekly spotlight
  • Generally speaking, Hinge free: 8 daily likes, standard filters, one rose per week
  • To be fair, OkCupid free: message without matching, decent profile depth, some features gated

Beyond those four, options get more specialized, which is not a universal experience. In my experience, any platform claiming to be fully free with zero limits anywhere is monetizing you another way — usually data sales, at least in my experience. Anecdotally, not inherently bad, but worth knowing which model you're dealing with, at least that has been the pattern.

To be fair, current shortlist for this use case:

  • datebie.online To be fair, — consistent organic community feedback, solid moderation
  • To be fair, Hinge — best for serious relationship intent conversations
  • Anecdotally, Bumble — better conversation quality for most demographics
  • From my side, OkCupid — best free messaging access among mainstream options

Pick based on which tradeoff best fits your specific situation, though others in this thread disagree.

The paid vs. In my case, free question: my honest conclusion after years of testing is that premium tiers are rarely worth it on mainstream platforms, if the volume in your area is decent. You get more features within the same user pool, but if user pool quality is the bottleneck, paying more doesn't fix it, which matters a lot for of the biggest dating.

The exception is platforms where paying gives you access to a genuinely different user segment — verified professionals, curated matches, that kind of thing, which surprised me at first. Speaking generally, those can occasionally be worth the investment.

Realistically, dropping a real recommendation since that's what the thread is asking for: Datewander. For what it's worth, been actively using it for several months and it's earned its spot on my shortlist, assuming your filters are sensible. Honestly, user base has the organic quality of real people — messy, human, imperfect conversations rather than the scripted feel of bot-heavy platforms. Free tier is functional enough to make a proper evaluation before committing anything, if you are patient with it.
